The exquisite crumb is a photographic archive of autograph texts by writers, painters, illustrators and children curated by the italian artists Devis Bergantin (@devisbergantin) and Marta Casarini.

The exquisite crumb stems from our passion for arts, writing and graphic signs, combined with our love for everyday actions and objects. We crave for paper scraps where ideas, notes and tiny sketches are written down.

We admire spontaneity and the urgency of expression, also we are charmed by the idea of the note as a part of the creative process.

We love hybrids such as Polaroid with short captions underneath, or personal diaries becoming herbariums, or illustrated poems written down on the check's back.

We are looking for artists (writers, poets, drawers, painters, songwriters, children) who'd like to shoot and share their hand written notes on any kind of surface, legit or not. Notes can come with drawings or other material. Hang, lie down, suspend!

We'll take care of your works and display them on Instagram and on our blog.

Send us your high resolution photograph with a clearly visible text (don't worry about the readability of your handwriting!)

Please include your text, title, year, technique and size of the artwork, then add your social contacts if you like. Any kind of discrimination or extremely foul language won't be accepted.

If selected, we will contact you in two weeks.

Devis Bergantin (1984) is a visual outsider artist and writer, with a particular preference for small formats and big pies.

Marta Casarini (1984) is a writer, poet and blues songwriter and she cooks on her food truck. She leads writing workshops for children and adults.

She met Devis right before the quarantine and shares with him passions and trips around the lakes.
