The Last Badger Party
Deadline: 04/01/2026City: Clapham, North Yorkshire | Region: North Yorkshire | Country: United Kingdom | Badger in the Wall
We are now accepting entries for our exhibition 'The Last Badger Party' at Badger in the Wall Gallery located in Clapham, North Yorkshire. We are encouraging submissions that have a celebratory theme for this month long exhibition. It is free to submit.
The Last Badger Party will be our final in-person exhibition in our current location in Clapham.
Our lease expires on the Barn here at the beginning of March, which brings to an end a very happy 2 years hosting open call exhibitions in Clapham.
Work of any theme can be submitted for consideration, but we would encourage uplifting pieces to help celebrate our last exhibition in our current location.
We will also be awarding prizes that will be selected by both our Gallery Judging Panel and a Visitor Vote.
Any medium will be considered, and for this exhibition artists are invited to submit just one piece of artwork they would like to put forward for the exhibition.
If you have never participated in an exhibition before and are not quite sure where to start, then we would love to see your submission. Likewise, if you are an exhibition regular, again, we want to see your work.
Artists who are selected will have their work displayed in our gallery for the duration of the exhibition, in an online gallery on our website, and printed in the exhibition programme, which will be available to purchase from the gallery or can be posted out.
How to Submit
Artists are encouraged to submit one piece of work for consideration. It is free to apply, with only successful artists paying an exhibition fee of £30 per accepted work. Please make your submission via CuratorSpace.

About the Gallery & Our Exhibitions
Badger in the Wall Gallery opened its doors to the public in May 2024. We are a rural independent gallery and have a fantastic exhibition space inside our converted barn. The Gallery is based in the village of Clapham, North Yorkshire, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The village is a key tourist destination with local attractions such as Ingleborough Cave, Ingleborough Nature Trail, Gaping Gill Cave and the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.
One of our key aims in establishing the gallery was to provide true open call exhibitions in the area and give an opportunity to as many artists as possible to exhibit their work to a new audience.
To date, we have exhibited work from over 400 different artists, and many of these have returned for multiple exhibitions.
For many of these artists, it has been the first time that they have exhibited in a formal exhibition, and, for those choosing to sell their work, it has also been the first time they have sold some of their work.
We usually select between 50 and 60 artists for each exhibition, depending on the theme and size of artwork submitted.
Whilst we love to make sales for our artists and send artwork off to their forever homes, we are also just as happy to exhibit work that is not for sale.
We usually have a good proportion of each exhibition where artists are looking just to exhibit their work, and actually do not make it for sale.
For those that do have their work on sale, we usually sell on average between 10-15% of the exhibition pieces.
We have an average footfall of 500-700 visitors in a normal month long exhibition and are seeing this increase with the new cafe that opened next door to the Gallery in July.
Of course, sales figures can vary depending on the theme of the work, and footfall does have some seasonal variation during busier holiday periods.
We are keen to build lasting partnerships with our returning artists and for many we stock and sell their prints and greeting cards on a long term basis.
We also held an invitational exhibition for those artists who were ever-present in our 2024 exhibitions, as well as awarding cash prizes in our 2024 Autumn Open.
