The Waters of Sulis & Beyond
Deadline: 12/04/2024City: Bath | Region: Somerset | Country: United Kingdom | Josie Purcell
This is a call out for artists to provide an Expression of Interest to The Waters of Sulis & Beyond, which will be part of Fringe Arts Bath and is curated by *eco-conscious photo-artist and the Photopocene podcast host, Josie Purcell.
This is an EoI opportunity - you do not need to send final work at this stage, only examples of relevant work.
If your submission on Curator Space is suitable, you will be put forward via the Fringe Arts Bath website.
The call out
Rivers in the UK are facing unprecedented health challenges, with none of England’s rivers free from chemical contamination.
Selected artists are asked to share what freshwater means to them by responding with an abstract, eco-conscious, photographic interpretation.
Selected work will ideally be made with the full collaboration of a riverine habitat. The images created will help to raise the profile of historic and social impacts humans have had on freshwater environments to offer mediation between people and freshwater.
*Eco-consious photography refers to images made with consideration for the natural world.
Those selected for the final show will be asked to pay a £22 contribution and/or volunteer time to support Fringe Arts Bath.
