Open call for all types of creative work made by artists in northern UK to be published in a magazine.

After the success of the magazine's first issue, we are doing another open call for our next print!

What is The Transient Art Collective?

The Transient Art Collective is an art community based in Leeds, aimed to showcase and help creatives across northern UK. We want to create a space where artists are encouraged to express therselves openly, collaborate with eachother, and grow together. We do this by presenting opportunities for people to find around them, hosting events where fellow artists can talk to one another, and publishing a magazine that highlights the beautiful work that you have created. At the heart of the collective is care for creativity and people behind the work. Founded by Asja Alexandra, an artist with more than five years of experience across exhibitions and art spaces in multiple countries.

What are we looking for?

The Transient Art Collective is looking for all types of artworks from artists based in northern UK to be featured in our next magazine issue. This can include any form of artwork as there is no theme limiting you, we want to see your creation and know all about the process behind it.

If you are based outside of northern UK, we're sorry to say that you are not eligible for submission!

What will be in the magazine?

The magazine will have 20 pages and a size of A5, featuring images of various artwork as well as paragraphs explaining who the artist is as well as the meaning and process behind the artwork. Not as many artists will be chosen in comparison to the previous issue who had 14 artists, however more pages will be dedicated to a single artist to go fully in depth for people to read about.

What happens after you submit?

The deadline for the submission is on April 1, 2026. You will be contacted by April 6, 2026 if you have been chosen. There will be both an online exhibition where everyone will be able to see your artwork on our website as well as an in person launch event where people will be able to buy the magazine at Hyde Park Book Club, on April 30, 2026 from 17:00-19:00. Any remaining stock of the magazine will be sold online through Etsy as well as stocked at various bookstores across Leeds, just as what happened with the previous issue.

It is completely free for you to submit and be featured in our magazine. You do not have to pay anything towards the printing or venue hiring fees. We try to keep the cost of the magazine as low as possible to make it accessible to various people while still enough to cover the cost. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot pay you back using money however we wish that this will be a great experience to be added in your professional artist journey.
