Fronteer Gallery are looking for postcard sized works of trees for a fundraising exhibition to help pay for improvements to the gallery space.

Fronteer Gallery are fundraising for improvements to their gallery space and a new tree themed mural on the front of the gallery.

We are asking artists to submit postcard-sized artwork related to trees to form a postcard exhibition in their gallery space in September.

The money raised will help towards the cost of a new wall and will help to pay for our fantastic new mural, creating paid work for a local artist.

UK based artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit. It is free to apply, with only successful artists paying a £10 fee for each piece of work selected.

Work should be on paper or card and should be A6/ postcard sized (10.5x14.8cm). Work must be unframed.

Artists are invited to submit as many pieces of work as they like for the exhibition, but please keep in mind the cost if all pieces are selected. There is a £10 hanging fee for each piece selected.

Please complete a separate submission form for each piece you submit.

In return for your fee, you will get a private view evening with free drinks, which you are welcome to bring friends and family along to, invigilation throughout, and promotion of the exhibition online through social media posts.

The exhibition will run from 24th September to 4th October 2025.

There will be a Private View event on Wednesday 24th October, 5.30-7

There will also be a closing event on Saturday, 4th 4-5.30 pm with workshops which are to be confirmed nearer the time.

Please note, the gallery is upstairs and there is no disabled access.

The submission deadline is 16th August 2025.

Successful artists will be contacted after the deadline, by 19th August 2025.

Successful artists are welcome to send their work by post. Work sent by post should reach us by 3rd September 2025 at the latest.

Artists are also welcome to deliver work in person to the gallery during our exhibition opening hours between 19th August -3rd September.

After 3rd September we are on holiday for 2 weeks and the exhibition will open when we return.

Successful artists should pay their hanging fee by 3rd September 2025.

Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 10%.

Work can be collected from the gallery on the final day of the exhibition 5.30-6pm, or between 14th - 30th October 2025 during gallery opening hours.

If you would like your work returned to you by post, please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope with your work.

Please use actual stamps, not a prepaid postage label, which may expire before your work can be returned.

Please be aware that we charge a fee, which includes a £4 handling fee to return postage, which does not have a stamped, addressed envelope with it. Couriers cannot collect your work from the gallery, and we do not print postage labels.

If you wish to submit any printed material, it will be your responsibility to print it and prepare it for exhibition before delivering it to us.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Thank you and good luck!
