Threads of Being Our identities are stitched into us - in our DNA, in our bodies, in the stories we inherit and remake. This February, WC Curated invites textile artists to explore self, body, and identity through textiles. From genetic threads to personal portraits in fibre, we’re looking for work that reveals what makes us who we are.

 WC Curated: February Showcase: Threads of Being

Our bodies carry stories. In every cell, in every thread of DNA, we hold layers of memory, identity, and becoming.

For February, WC Curated invites textile artists to reflect on the self - our genetic makeup, our bodies, and the ways identity can be woven, stitched, and re-imagined through textiles.

Threads of Being asks: How do we see ourselves through textiles? What is inherited, what is chosen, and what is made visible when we translate identity into fibre, form, and texture?

Nine selected artists will be featured at the end of February on Instagram @weavercreature and in the permanent WC Curated archive on my website.

This digital showcase is also building towards a magazine and a future gallery exhibition, bringing these threads of self into physical space.

Selected artists will be promoted on @weavercreature’s Instagram (3k+ followers and quickly growing), which includes followers such as renowned textile artists (including Ann Richards) and institutions like the Royal College of Art.

Posts consistently receive high engagement, averaging 200+ likes and 15 comments across recent content.

In addition, work will be showcased on the Weaver Creature website (www.weavercreature.com), which attracts an international audience of makers, curators, and textile enthusiasts.

Submission Guidelines

• Submit up to 4 pieces responding to Threads of Being
• Up to 8 images total (2 per piece maximum)
• 1 portrait of you or an image of your studio space
• A 150–250 word description of your practice and connection to the theme

£15 per project (includes up to 4 works, eight images, portrait/studio photo, Instagram + website feature)
