Applications open for Peak District Artisans Young Emerging Artist Award 2025

Celebrating the diversity of creative Talent in and around the Peak District our award aims to encourage and support 18-30 year old emerging artist or makers at the start of their career.

The award includes free membership to the Peak District Artisans for one year and discounted membership for a further two years.

A cash prize of £150.00, support and advice from experienced artists and makers and exhibition & retail opportunities in key Peak District venues.

This year's award has been sponsored by Holcim Ltd.

The criteria for application are:

You are aged between 18 and 30 years old

You live or work within the Peak District Tourism area

You must be making high quality work in 2D or 3D

You have a body of work to show the selection committee

You can attend an in person interview in Bakewell (date TBC)

You live or work within the Peak District tourism area as defined by Visit Peak District Tourism area map (click here to view map pdf download).

Specifically, PDA provides:

Cash prize of £150

Membership of PDA for 3 years with subscriptions subsidised on a diminishing scale

Support and advice from experienced artists and makers

Guaranteed exhibition and retail opportunities in key Peak District venues

Inclusion on the PDA website and in the annual brochure

Access to advice on exhibiting/pricing/online marketing/photography etc.

Access to the PDA online forum.

Who is eligible for this opportunity?
Any makers of 2D or 3D work ( sorry no film, video or installation work ), aged between 18 - 30 years old. Living or working within the Peak District Tourism area.
When is the deadline?
We have extended the deadline to 10th August 2025.
How many works can I submit?
Up to 4.
How much does it cost?
Application is free.
Are there payments to artists?
The winner will be awarded a £150.00 cash prize.
Does the location have disabled access?
Yes.
What publicity will be provided as part of the opportunity?
Promotion through PDA website and social media.
Do I need to be present?
Interviews will be held in person.
How do you decide on proposals?
A panel of existing PDA members.
