Call for entries! 13b is an exciting new project and gallery space looking for photography submissions for their exhibition ‘Mellow Yellow’. This is a great opportunity to expand your network and get greater exposure by exhibiting your work in front of an international audience.

'Mellow Yellow' will be a radiant, uplifting show where the colour yellow takes centre stage. This theme celebrates the warmth, optimism, and subtle power of yellow in all its shades—from golden sunshine to soft buttercream tones.

Many phases using the colour yellow can be found in popular culture: we call it mellow yellow, the yellow brick road, yellow submarine.

To be timid, faint-hearted, having a yellow streak, or a golden opportunity, even the twilight of life in our golden years all can be used to portray the psychological implications of the hue.

Yellow is one of the brightest hues on the colour wheel and it draws attention.

Our exhibition will also coincide with a variety of cultural events in Kamnik such as ‘The May Flower Exhibition’ at Volčji Potok Arboretum, ‘Križnik's Fairytale Festival’ (storytelling festival) and ‘Museum Summer Night’ at the Intermunicipal Museum Kamnik.

Submission Details:

Artists are invited to submit photographs connected to the theme of ‘yellow’, which can be interpreted broadly from abstract/landscape images to everyday objects/materials and details. It can even include photographs of existing artworks that strongly incorporate the colour yellow.

Artists can submit up to 3 images from which ONE will be selected for the show. Successful artists will be asked to email us a high-resolution image of the chosen work.

Selected artists will have their work displayed in a 6 week-long exhibition in our gallery, with their work also appearing online on our social media pages with a link to their websites.

We will print all images A4 size and each photograph will also be individually mounted and framed, so no need to post anything.

Every contribution must be an original artwork.

Submissions are FREE.  If your work is selected, there will be a participation fee of 24 euros via PayPal to help us cover the cost of printing/installation materials and admin/marketing including flyers and the public PV.

Successful artists will be asked to confirm participation by paying the fee of 24 euros within 3 days of acceptance (so no later than May 3rd)
