Zhen Yi Gallery is a Paris-based nomadic contemporary art gallery and curatorial research platform, founded in 2025 by curator Evgeniya Makarshina. As a nomadic gallery, we work across different spaces in Paris, creating flexible contexts for exhibitions, collaborations and artistic exchange.

During its first year, Zhen Yi Gallery featured 38 artists across 5 exhibitions. Through these projects, the gallery develops a curatorial research practice centred on how human experience is shaped through the body, perception, material and surrounding environments, as well as through memory and time. We are interested in moments when familiar distinctions between inner and outer, presence and absence, the visible and the invisible, or the personal and the collective become less fixed, opening up new ways of perceiving and understanding experience.

Each exhibition is conceived as a distinct curatorial project, bringing together different artistic practices around a shared theme or question. 

The gallery works with emerging and established artists from different backgrounds and disciplines, with a particular interest in practices that engage critically with contemporary experience and open up new ways of thinking and seeing.

Through its exhibitions and open calls, Zhen Yi Gallery seeks to create a space for meaningful exchange between artists, ideas and audiences.
