Creating your Curator Profile
Your profile on CuratorSpace is a representation of your curatorial practice and can greatly impact your chances of collaborating with artists and art organisations. In this tutorial, we'll guide you through the process of creating a profile that accurately reflects your expertise, showcases your work, and communicates your unique curatorial vision.
If you haven't already, please sign up for an account. Curator’s profiles cost £5/month and you can manage up to five opportunities at a time.
We also offer the opportunity to manage up to 10 opportunities at a time, create up to 5 separate users on this account, invite a judging panel and store up to 10GB of files and images. You can choose the right account for you here (https://www.curatorspace.com/about/pricing)
When you sign up, select a username that reflects your identity as a curator.
Consider using your real name or use the name of your gallery.
This is especially important, if you are not the owner of the gallery and other people from your team are also responsible for offering opportunities to artists and you are choosing to join CuratorSpace as an organisation.
Once you have set up your account, go to ‘My profile’ and start with ‘Basic details’

Write a compelling bio:
Craft a concise and engaging bio that highlights your experience, expertise, and curatorial vision. Include relevant information about your background, exhibitions, projects, and any notable achievements. Be sure to emphasise what sets you apart as a curator.
Showcase your curatorial projects:
Include high-quality images, descriptions, and any relevant documentation or media coverage. This will give potential artists an idea of your style and areas of interest.
Additional tips:
Provide details about the type of artwork or themes you're interested in curating. Mention any specific mediums, styles, or genres you prefer to work with. This information will help artists understand whether their work aligns with your curatorial vision.
Highlight your collaborations or partnerships:
If you have collaborated with other curators, artists, or art organizations in the past, mention these partnerships in your profile. Highlighting successful collaborations can enhance your credibility and attract artists who value teamwork.
Regularly update your profile:
Keep your profile fresh and relevant by regularly updating it with new projects, exhibitions, or achievements. This shows that you are an active and engaged curator. Consider sharing any upcoming events or exhibitions you are involved in.
Remember, your profile on CuratorSpace is a representation of your curatorial practice and can greatly impact your chances of collaborating with artists and art organisations. Invest time and effort into creating a profile that accurately reflects your expertise, showcases your work, and communicates your unique curatorial vision.
