Setting up and managing your new curator subscription
Welcome to CuratorSpace! If you're a curator or event organiser, this tutorial will guide you through setting up and managing your curator subscription so you can start offering opportunities.
To offer more than one opportunity or event, you need a paid subscription. Users with a free artist or curator subscription can manage one opportunity before needing to upgrade to a paid subscription.
Paid subscriptions start from £5 per month and offer more advanced functionality, allowing curators to manage multiple opportunities, create custom forms, and create their dedicated profile page.
To see the benefits of each subscription level, click on this link: https://www.curatorspace.com/about/pricing or click on the "register" button located on the right side of the website to get started.
When registering, create a username or use your email address as your login ID. Both will work, and you can log in later with your chosen password.
If you need to change your subscription level, find the “subscribe” button in your account area under “my account details”.
You can cancel your subscription at any point by logging into your member's area, clicking "settings", and then "manage my subscription".
Alternatively, you can contact accounts@curatorspace.com for assistance.
Please note that CuratorSpace is not a listing site but rather a tool that enables curators and event organizers to collect and manage artist submissions to their opportunity. We have introduced an approval process for opportunities to ensure that curators understand how to use CuratorSpace's functionality and get the most out of the platform.
The approval process does not involve censorship but aims to ensure that the opportunities meet certain criteria. Here are some examples of opportunities that might face delays during the approval process:
- Volunteering opportunities that offer no clear benefits but gain monetary from the artist.
- Opportunities that require an artist to pay a fee to submit their work or participate in an event without the organisers clearly explaining the reasons for the fee and the benefits that the artist will receive in return for paying it. Essentially, the more money that the artist is being asked to contribute, the more important it is for the organisers to provide a clear explanation of why that money is necessary and what the artist can expect to gain from paying it.
- Opportunities that expect artists to work for free, mentioning possible future benefits, and offering exposure or non-direct benefits.
- Opportunities requesting original designs to be produced to be used for sale without agreeing to pay royalties, therefore not respecting the artist's time and effort and failing to compensate them fairly for their creative work.

CuratorSpace isn't another listings website; it's a place where curators and organisers can use custom online forms to allow artists to apply to their opportunity. It also allows you to see and manage all submissions made to your opportunity on the website, and to contact contributors directly.
Register now and you can start making submissions and even create your first opportunity for free.
