    I am an artist living and working in North Wales. Working predominantly with painting and drawing I am primarily concerned with the way in which mark making, abstraction and figuration work together. My paintings and drawings are responses to the landscape, figuration and the nature of my own painting. I keep my subject and process deliberately unplanned.

    Working with a range of materials I develop surfaces through sensory expressions, that evolve into landscapes, rivers,seas and oceans.     I make paintings about what it is to be human and our dis-connection from the natural world. I am inspired by Adam and Eve and how paradise lives in our psyche as both a longing for home or mythical place. My work as a psychotherapist is mirrored in the psychodrama of the work, the painted surface and imagery reflecting our fractures, flaws, both psychological/physical, and our wish for love.

    I grew up in the heart of the textile industry, and spent many childhood days playing amongst the derelict mills that are our heritage. After travelling extensively, I was drawn back by the rugged and remote beauty of the Pennines. My passion is capturing the drama of our landscape, its social and industrial heritage and the lives of the people who lived and worked here then and now.

    Tina Culverhouse (b. 1969) is an artist based in London and France. She has recently been awarded as a Fellow of Digswell Arts Trust (24-29), Hertfordshire. Tina completed the Turps Banana Mass Programme studio based 21/23 and off-site 23/24. She graduated from the University of Hertfordshire Creative School as a Master of Fine Arts (Distinction) in September 2021.

    I am a ceramist who uses unorthodox methods in my work, also I use mixed mediums in the ceramics They are all hand made and glazed. My work is unique as every piece is different and I only make one. My heads have lots of features and need to be seen by the eye to appreciate the details.     I only returned to using clay several years ago after a break of over 35 years and following work-related mental health issues. The charity Create Bolton supported me in rediscovering my love of ceramics and encouraging me to develop my own style of making. My work is inspired by my love of nature and my style is still evolving.
