Chapeltown Community Nursery is seeking people with a creative practice and an interest in care, community and play to exhibit in our online and nursery-based exhibition.

As a community organisation that is almost 50 years old, we have long been interested in creativity and playful expression from engaging with Leeds' West Indian Carnival to working with artists and photographers in our community. Whilst the past year has been very challenging for parents of young children as well as front-line essential workers like nursery staff, we are exploring ways to express solidarity and to connect with people in our community and beyond.

On this basis we have created a call out for anyone who would like to submit work for our time-limited exhibition in August 2021. This is intended as an opportunity to share any creative practice or experimentation on our themes of play, care and community and we welcome all submissions. We are interested in art work in portrait format that can be displayed at an A5 size or dimensions. However all submissions are welcome.
