Art Post Editions is looking for an artist to join our upcoming collection, Observations on Ordinary Life. We’re looking for work that finds something worth noticing in the everyday — the people, places, objects, routines and small moments that might otherwise pass us by. The selected work will be produced as a museum-quality fine art print and sold as part of the collection, with the artist receiving a commission from every sale.

The Art Post started in Sheffield in 2020 with a simple idea: to find artists we love and introduce more people to their work in creative and accessible ways.

Since then, we’ve grown a community of art lovers and collectors, with thousands of people discovering artists through The Art Post and a growing audience visiting our website each month to find new artists and their work.

Our latest chapter, Art Post Editions, takes that idea a little further: a series of carefully curated fine art print collections designed to make collecting work by emerging and independent artists more accessible.

For our upcoming collection, Observations on Ordinary Life, we’re opening up a small number of spaces for artists we haven’t found yet. Up to three artists will be selected to join the collection.

The theme

Observations on Ordinary Life is about finding something interesting in the seemingly unremarkable.

We’re looking for work that notices the everyday, people going about their day, familiar places, overlooked objects, routines, interactions, journeys, quiet moments or details most of us might walk straight past.

We’re deliberately keeping the interpretation broad. What matters to us is the perspective: what you notice, and how you choose to show it.

We welcome painting, drawing, photography, illustration, collage, textiles and other visual practices, provided the selected work can be reproduced successfully as a fine art print.

What happens if you’re selected?

Up to three artists will be selected to have a work included in Observations on Ordinary Life.

Each selected work will be produced as an Art Post Edition — a museum-quality giclée print on heavyweight 310gsm archival fine art paper, chosen to reproduce the colour, depth and detail of the original work as closely as possible.

Artists will receive 50% commission on every print of their work sold after printing and fulfilment costs.

There are no upfront costs for selected artists. Art Post Editions takes care of printing, production, the online store, marketing, customer service, packaging and fulfilment.

Alongside selling the work, we’ll introduce each selected artist and their practice to The Art Post’s established and growing audience, with thousands of people discovering artists through our subscription and website each month, as well as through our email, social channels and the wider editorial campaign around the collection.

The aim isn’t simply to list another print for sale. We want to introduce people to the person behind the work, the things they notice and the perspective that made us want to include them in the collection in the first place.

Copyright remains with the artist.

Who can apply?

You don’t need gallery representation, an extensive exhibition history or a large social following.

We’re interested in the work.

Applications will be considered on the strength of the piece, its relationship to Observations on Ordinary Life, the perspective behind it and how it sits alongside the wider collection.

There is no fee to apply and no production cost if selected.

We’d love to discover some artists we haven’t come across yet.
