FORBIDDEN FRUIT. Ever since Adam took The Apple from Eve’s hand, humanity, in all its guises, has succumbed to temptation, has been aware of 'Forbidden Fruit'. Although the title appears to suggest allegorical narrative, even biblical interpretation, we are asking artists to encompass all aspects of the title, there are obvious parallels with current times. General consensus is changeable, as well as our own peculiarities. To quote art historian Mary Beard from her groundbreaking program Forbidden Art- of 2022 ‘to see or not to see’. …over to you and your art.

‘The Temptation of St. Anthony’ by Dali and Grunewald, Rossetti’s ‘Proserphine’, Duchamp’s ‘Secret Masterpiece’, ‘Terribly Wrong’ by Tracey Emin - a vast area to explore.

Paradise, beauty, hedonism, erotic desire, promised land, feminism, bliss, enticement, Sexuality, love is a drug, no entry, stop, protests, consensus, limits, banned, coverup, subversion, peepshow.

Depending on the volume of exhibitors this could be a changing exhibition, plus you may wish to replenish and replace works, at no extra charge. If you are selected we hope you will enjoy exhibiting with us.

This exhibition runs alongside the exhibition ‘Winter'.
