Before Greed Became Form is a Group Exhibition, taking place virtually with artists from around the world. It seeks to imagine a world we hope to see ACV (after coronavirus). After decades of greed, from society and in the art world in general, we would like to invite under-represented artists to exhibit in a Group Exhibition and have the opportunity to sell their work. This exhibition will be curated by artist Amy Jackson (@thisisamyjackson) and is open only to artists who are not represented by galleries.

Before Greed Became Form asks artists to respond to the last three decades of decadence and greed, both in society and in the art world in particular and asks them to question if we need more stuff in the world (and if we do, what that ‘stuff’ should be).

The exhibition responds to the age we are all living through, full of anger, disappointment and fear for the future. Gone are the days of diamond skulls and countless dots. ACV (after coronavirus), if we plan to make something, perhaps it needs to say something and somehow make an impact which sacrifices extreme profit in order to be net positive for people and the planet.

We would like to understand what you have made since the start of 2020, why you have made it and how you believe it can shape the future for the better either through its materials, themes or both.

We are looking for artists in any medium who can tackle this issue conceptually and thoughtfully. There are no restrictions on size or material as long as it can be displayed in a virtual gallery. You may exhibit a still image of a performance, a short video, a painting, print, drawing, photograph, literally anything that can be hosted online in 2D form.

All artists will be invited to provide original works for sale during the exhibition with the virtual gallery taking only 20% commission to cover hosting costs and transaction fees.

What kind of proposals are you looking for?
Anything! We don't want to add too much workload so feel free to keep things simple, just make sure we have your name, email, CV, an idea of your general practice and most importantly the work you want to exhibit with names and descriptions.
What are the selection criteria?
How well the work will exhibit in a virtual gallery and how well it meets the theme Before Greed Became Form.
