Deadline: 22/02/2023Venue: Left Bank Leeds | City: Leeds | Region: West Yorkshire | Country: United Kingdom | amelia wood
Paid opportunity
See You Naked Monday is a non-traditional life drawing event run on behalf of Assembly House in partnership with Left Bank Leeds. Each session is hosted by a different artist who runs a themed session from 6.30pm-8.30pm every Monday evening.
Our sessions are a non-judgemental celebration of bodies in a fun friendly and supportive environment. Our main ethos is to make art accessible and take life drawing away from the perceived exclusivity of traditional sessions, we encourage all ages and abilities to attend. We challenge traditional sessions by responding each week with a different theme from a local artist to navigate the session.
We are looking for local creatives to lead a two hour paid life drawing session, the sessions must include a theme or idea that will create an interesting and fun new way to draw whilst looking at the figure.
There is no need for formal teaching experience or any art background but must be confident in leading a large group session. Suggested sessions could include bringing props to explore with the figure such as sculptures you have made, household objects or bodily extensions. The session could also explore broader themes (not limited to) movement, sound, poetry, performance.
The sessions are held at Left Bank Leeds every Monday with dates available from 5th September.
Payments to artists are £40 for an individual to run a session, or £25 each for a joint session of two people.
