East Street Arts are offering artists, creatives, curators, groups & collectives, use of a new meanwhile space located in central Burton upon Trent. As a former nightclub space it would be particularly suitable for use as a rehearsal / performance / live streaming and installation space for artists working in dance, theatre and live art and visual arts. The space can also open up as an exhibition venue and studio space.

Located in the centre of town, on Station Street, the property is a large, open-plan ex-music venue we are looking to fill with creative energy and build the local creative community.

We understand the impact the pandemic has had on all art forms and practicing artists. This is a great opportunity for an affordable space that is large enough to hold; 

• Live streaming performances to audiences at home 

• AV Recording 

• Socially distanced arts events

• Artists studios

• Large scale sculpture & installations

• Community-engaged events

You will have round the clock access to the space, assistance with promoting your activities and support from the Spaces team here at East Street Arts. This is an opportunity to be a part of our UK-wide network of artists and arts organisations.

We are offering the opportunity to occupy the space for an initial rent-free period of 1 month after which, should you wish to continue to use and occupy the space, we would introduce a low-cost rental fee.

Fragile Centre for Contemporary Art (FCCA) are already using the building for film screenings, spoken word events, exhibitions, music events, performance rehearsals, and artist studios / producing work.  

FCCA has made great use of the space so far but the space is huge and there is room for more activity! They would be keen to collaborate with other artists on a range of creative projects but particularly performance (dance / movement).

We are committed to working with artists of all backgrounds, ages and levels of careers.
