Fronteer Gallery are looking for small works inspired by the planets, stars, space, and the cosmos to form part of a group exhibition.

Fronteer Gallery are looking for space inspired small works to form an exhibition in our Basement Gallery, which will run for 4 weeks. The exhibition will be called “Celestial Bodies”.

You are welcome to submit work of any kind that you feel fits with this theme, in any medium (except audio or video), but works must be light weight and no bigger than 20x20cm.

The exhibition will run from 8th January – 5th February, with a private view evening on Saturday 8th January.

It is free to submit work, with only successful artists paying a £15 fee for each piece of work accepted.

UK based artists are invited to submit up to 3 pieces of work.  Different pieces of work should be submitted separately, creating a new submission for each piece.

The gallery is open Wednesdays - Saturdays.

The submission deadline is 24th November 2021. Successful artists will be contacted by 1st December 2021.

PLEASE NOTE, THE DELIVERY DATE IS BEFORE CHRISTMAS TO ENSURE WORK ARRIVES IN GOOD TIME DUE TO CHRISTMAS POST DELAYS.

Successful artists should send their work by post. Please note that it can only be sent using Royal Mail, and must the fit dimensions for a Royal Mail medium parcel or smaller. Due to Coronavirus restrictions only Royal Mail delivery personnel have access to the building where the post will be sent to. Please note that the postal address is not the same as the gallery address. All work sent by post must reach us not later than 16th December.

Artists may also deliver work in person to the gallery during gallery opening hours before 11th December 2021.

Successful artists should pay their £15 fee (per piece of work accepted) by 16th December 2021 at the latest.

Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 5% to cover admin costs.

How to Submit

Artists are invited to submit up to 3 pieces of work, with up to 150 words about the work which will NOT be displayed alongside your work in the exhibition.  

Work can be 2D or 3D, though unfortunately we cannot accept video or audio works.

Work should be no bigger than 20x20 cm, but can be smaller and any dimensions. The dimensions you give for your work when submitting must include the size of the frame if the work is a framed piece.

All wall text information relating to your work, including price and title, will be taken directly from your Curatorspace submission and should be correct at the time of submission.

You may submit up to 3 images of each work, one image showing the finished piece of work, including the frame if the work is framed, and two further images to show detail if needed.

Work should be collected from the gallery during gallery opening hours between 16th February – 18th March 2022. If you would like your work returning to you by post please be aware that we charge a handling fee. We return work by taking it in person to the Post Office and sending with Royal Mail or Parcelforce only. Couriers cannot collect work from the gallery. If work is small enough you are welcome to include a stamped addressed envelope for return postage which will incur no further charge.

Please note, the gallery will be closed between from 11th December – 5th January and we will not be able to answer any emails or messages during this time.

All work must be complete at the time of submission. Any work which varies from the original piece submitted may be rejected. If you wish to submit any form of print, it will be your responsibility to print it off and prepare it for exhibition before delivering it to us.

The Basement Gallery space is downstairs with no disabled access.
