State of the Art
Deadline: 28/11/2026City: Tbilisi | Country: Georgia | Collect Art
We invite artists from around the world to submit their work for our upcoming international digital publication, STATE OF THE ART. This theme is an invitation to capture the present. Not the future we imagine, not the past we nostalgize — but the complex, contradictory, hyper-accelerated now we are actually living in. What does it mean to be contemporary? What image, object, gesture, or glitch best represents the state of our art — and the art of our state?

This theme is an invitation to capture the present. Not the future we imagine, not the past we nostalgize — but the complex, contradictory, hyper-accelerated now we are actually living in. What does it mean to be contemporary? What image, object, gesture, or glitch best represents the state of our art — and the art of our state?
Open to visual artists worldwide, aged 18 and above, working in various media, including painting, drawing, collage, installation, illustration, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, assemblage, fiber art, paper art, printmaking, 3D digital art, glass art, metalwork, and more.
The theme for this edition is the “State of the Art”.
We are seeking visual testimonies of the texture of life in 2026. If a future archaeologist found only your work, what would they understand about what it felt like to be alive right now? Your interpretation can be literal, documentary, symbolic, abstract, speculative or deeply personal, exploring technology and humanity, digital identity, the body, ecology and collapse, present-day politics, new rituals and intimacies, information overload, resilience, or simply the quiet poetry of an ordinary day in this extraordinary time.
Each participant will receive a 2-6 page spread in print and digital magazines including a biography, statement, interview, QR code linked to their website and/or social media, and 2-10 featured artworks. All participants will receive a complimentary digital issue of the magazine which will be promoted on our website/social media. In addition, you will receive the link for ordering the printed magazine.
Moreover, the curatorial team will select a few exceptional artists for inclusion in their upcoming book edition titled '101 Contemporary Artists and More...'
