The Big Love Show
Deadline: 09/01/2026City: Leeds | Region: West Yorkshire | Country: United Kingdom | Hyde Park Art Club [HPAC]
The Big Love Show (FEB-APRIL) Opening in February 2026 George Storm Fletcher and the team at Hyde Park Art Club invite you to be a part of THE BIG LOVE SHOW: An exhibition about all things mushy, wet and lovey.
"As W.H. Auden reminds us, love might not be found underneath the bed, or in the chicken hut, and maybe it doesn’t make the world go round - but what makes it feel like it does, for you?
We invite your drawings, photographs, poems, writing, letters, prints, polaroids, paintings, collages, montages or other wall-mounted moments that you think are about love for this Open Call. Old work or new - all are welcome.
Be it that love you just found on tindr, or an ancient one you just can’t shake – it's the depth of all of these genres that will make this show work – so show us your bleeding, beating or bestil hearts. 🥰
... and yes - Love is most frequently used for our lovers, but this exhibition takes love in it’s expanded form, as something possibly or impossibly sexy.
In this exhibition, your love for a particular variety of plum, or a specific radio show host is as valid as that one might have for a partner.
We invite your sycophantic, friendship-based, inanimate-object revolving loves, as well as those that live and breathe close to you.
I personally love Leeds and the team at Hyde Park Art Club, and what better way to curate an exhibition and book than by bringing all of this onto the walls in Hyde Park? "
Big love, from George Storm Fletcher and the team at HPAC.

Since then, HPAC has expanded to welcome more members, including Curator Benedetta D’ettore [Leeds/Venice] and Artist, educator and curator Marion Harrison, plus our amazing steering group, and our growing team of HPAC alumni and our events links at our beloved Hyde Park Book Club.
As an unconstituted curatorial group, we aim to showcase Northern-based artists and broaden visual art audiences by displaying high-quality contemporary art in a non-traditional setting at Hyde Park Book Club.
Our shows have excellent engagement from both audiences accustomed to viewing art and hundreds of cafe/venue goers, who experience art incidentally and can appreciate it more slowly.
We provide free, experimental space to test new, innovative ideas. Since 2020, we showcased over 180 artists including.
Our exhibitions have received press attention including SoAnyway, FAD, Corridor8 and The State of The Arts.
In May 2024, we set up a steering group to pool resources, collaborate with organisations across the city, and increase our accountability and engagement.
