Humour, art, perception, scale, reflective practice. My Tiny Gallery is 30 cm tall and staffed by small plastic cats. Drawings, paintings or prints on A4 paper take up a whole wall. This is an open invitation for artists to display their work in the Tiny Gallery. I will document the process on a-n and Instagram. I welcome art exchanges if you want to set up your own Tiny Gallery in space you have available.

My Tiny Gallery came about after an art exchange with Lizzie Donegan.

I enjoyed having her work on my walls but I wanted to see them in a gallery setting too.

My Tiny Gallery is a cardboard box with the inside painted dark blue. It could just as easily be a shelf or a drawer. The main objective is to view art through different eyes. I can hold an A4 sheet of paper in my hands. If I was a 2cm tall plastic cat, that A4 sheet of paper would take up an entire wall.

How this works

  • You send me some work that will fit in the tiny gallery.
  • It must be packaged to fit through a letterbox.
  • Please let me know any instructions for display.
  • I curate an exhibition for you and document it on a-n and on Instagram.
  • I will return the work if you enclose packaging and postage

I am a MA Design student. My research and creative practice revolves around the idea of making intangble things solid. I tend to work to a small scale, making tactile objects that can be held. My Tiny Gallery is an opportunity for me to explore the idea of scaling up and exhibiting in different settings. It is my hope that curating exhibitions for others will allow me to step outside my own work and gain a greater insight into the possibilities of scale and perception.
