Unit 2 is offering a unique opportunity for an artist, curator, or collective to take over our dynamic exhibition space in the heart of St Leonards for a three-day show in mid-June.
We’re looking for bold, experimental curatorial projects with a non-commercial focus. Whether you’re testing new ideas, seeking to understand your work in a gallery context, or staging a conceptual intervention, we want to hear from you.
What’s included:
- Free use of the space from Tuesday 10 June for installation, with the exhibition opening Friday 13 – Sunday 15 June
- Full access to our large, brand new gallery and project space in the centre of St Leonards, just minutes from the train station and seafront
- No commission taken on any sales
- Support from the Unit 2 team with promotion and set-up advice
- An open, inclusive space backed by a non-profit CIC, led by volunteers
- The option to run a bar, shop, workshop or artist talk – offering a chance to generate income if desired.
Please note:
The exhibition will need to be self-invigilated – we’re here to support you, but the running of the show across the three open days is the responsibility of the exhibiting artist or group.
We welcome proposals from emerging and underrepresented artists, curators and collectives.
How to apply:
Please send a short proposal (max 500 words), including:
- A description of your idea or project
- How you plan to use the space
- Any technical needs or access considerations
- Links to your work or past projects (if applicable)
Deadline: Monday, 26 May 2025.
