'Unlocked in Lockdown' is an open call by WildVision Collective. We would like to pose the question...'How have you been unlocked in Lockdown?' Only those with TS postcodes are eligible.

The last 6 months have been some of the most difficult and scary times in recent history and yet, despite the constraints of circumstances, the Arts have remained a powerful outlet for self-expression, coping and distraction, allowing people to find an escape from the bad news that's all around, to use their time productively and promote hopefulness and emotional wellbeing.

Furlough schemes have allowed many people the time and space to pick up a long-buried skill, or to develop new artistic forms of expression. We would like to hear from you if you have carried on making Art during the pandemic, if your practice has changed, if you have taken up Art for the first time during the pandemic, or resurrected an old passion.

Selected works will form an exhibition to be shown throughout November in the Wild Vision pop up Gallery, Wellington Square, Stockton on Tees. Submissions are welcome from both professional and amateur artists, in a range of media both 2D and 3D.

WildVision Collective is a new creative collaboration, birthed during lockdown, when 4 Teesside-based artists got together to support one another and dream about how they could use their skills collectively, to create projects that would bring a spark of hope to their local area.

'Unlocked in Lockdown' is an open call to all artists with a TS postcode, both professional and amateur.

We would like to hear from artists who have made work during the last 6 months, especially if you have had to change your practice to adapt to the pandemic, If you have re-discovered a forgotten artistic talent, or if you have used Art as an escape or a coping mechanism.

Please send up to 4 photos of the piece you would like to submit and a link to your website, or artists social media account (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter), if you have one, along with a brief introduction about yourself and your Art practice, answering the question, 'How have you been unlocked during Lockdown?' in no more than 500 words.

Guidelines:

Only submissions with a TS postcode will be considered.

All 2D work must be framed (unframed canvases will be considered) and must measure no more than 70cm x 55cm, including frame.

3D and sculpture work must measure no more than 1m in any direction.

All applications must be submitted via Curatorspace for consideration. Please supply up to 4 photographs of the work you would like to submit.

Please note that it is our intention to have a private view and a physical exhibition, with restricted access and social distancing in place, to adhere to COVID guidelines. If Government guidelines change and it becomes impossible to host a physical exhibition, we will run a virtual exhibition and use online platforms to display the work.

The organisers will be in touch with details of the private view and Gallery opening hours.
