Wiltshire Creative - SUMMER EXHIBITION 2021

Wiltshire Creative is a pan-arts organisation that celebrates the distinctiveness of each art form and the opportunities afforded to explore interaction between them. Based across two venues – Salisbury Playhouse and Salisbury Arts Centre - we champion work which is diverse, relevant, tells important stories, entertains, and resonates with audiences in the county and further afield.

Based in the city of Salisbury, Wiltshire Creative draws audiences from across the county and beyond. As part of the Visual Arts programme we seek to showcase work that has been created locally. Building on the success on our previous Summer Open Exhibitions, we are once more providing a platform for the talent which flourishes in and around the county of Wiltshire.

Proposed Exhibition Dates: 13th July – 4th September 2021 dependant on the success of the Covid recovery roadmap.

Changes to our Summer Exhibition 2021 from previous years.

After the difficult year we have had Wiltshire Creative has decided to approach our Summer Exhibition slightly differently. On the one hand, over the past year we have had to cancel many exhibitions, but on the other we also know about the huge surge of lockdown creativity. We would like to address this in our Summer Exhibition.

This is why we will curate this exhibition in two parts. Part one of our Summer Exhibition will be 'Picture This' a selected Salisbury Camera Club photography exhibition originally planned for January.

For our Summer Open submission we are inviting this year a submission of SMALL PICTURES. We would like to invite artists of all walks of life and artists at any stage of their career to apply to exhibit with pictures not exceeding the size of (25x35)cm framed. We are looking for work in any media across 2D and wall-hung shallow relief (up to 70 mm in depth.) These can include painting, drawing, photography, textiles, wood, mixed-media, ceramics, glass etc.

This call out is for South West based visual artists. South West includes the following areas: BATH and NE Somerset; Bournemouth, Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Isle of Scilly, North Somerset, Plymouth, Poole, Portsmouth, Southampton, Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, Torbay, Wiltshire.

Artists should submit:

  • A maximum of three images together with the exact dimensions of the work (each image should be titled with your initials and the name of the piece)
  • The selling price of the work which must include Wiltshire Creative’s commission of 45%. (VAT is deducted by Wiltshire Creative from this commission)
  • Description of the medium used
