TALENTED DESIGNERS & CREATIVE ARTISTS WANTED! Are you ready to write fashion history’s new chapter? We’re calling on visionary designers, artists, students and makers to join in the Corset Revival Project
About the Project
The Corset Revival Project is organised by the Circular Fashion Incubator CIC, a Leeds-based non-profit founded in 2023.
Our mission is to support designers, artists, and makers by giving them opportunities to explore circular fashion, heritage, and innovation on international platforms.
Why Take Part?
Global Fashion Event:
The Corset Revival Project is an international creative initiative led by the Circular Fashion Incubator CIC (founded in Leeds, UK in 2023).
We are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting designers, artists and creative practitioners through international events, education, and exhibitions focused on sustainability, heritage, and innovation in fashion.
This open call invites artists, designers, and makers to reimagine donated corsets into unique new works. Selected corsets will be showcased and exhibited across multiple platforms in 2026:
Opportunities & Benefits for Participants:
Global Fashion Event Showcase:
Selected works will be exhibited at the International Circular Fashion Week Conference 2026 (ICFWC), taking place 16–17 March 2026 at Leeds Beckett University (UK) with 500+ participants expected (students, academics, press, designers, sustainability professionals, and industry guests).
This is an international hybrid event, connecting audiences from the UK, Europe, and beyond.
Local Exhibition & Shop Space:
Corsets will also be displayed at Fabrication, an independent creative workspace and shop in Leeds with strong community and visitor engagement.
Professional Photography:
All finished designs will be professionally photographed and shared with participants for their own portfolios.
Media Exposure:
Designs will be promoted through the Circular Fashion Incubator’s UK and international sustainability and fashion networks (including universities, fashion weeks, circular economy organisations, and press partners). Exposure includes press releases, social media campaigns (5k+ reach), and potential press coverage through local and international media.
Publication:
Selected works will be featured in a professional printed publication documenting the project, available for purchase internationally, ensuring lasting visibility.
Charity Exhibition & Sale:
Corsets will take part in an exhibition and sale to raise funds for St. Gemma’s Hospice Charity (Leeds). While proceeds go to the charity, participating artists gain valuable exhibition experience, exposure to buyers, and association with a respected community cause.
Networking & Recognition:
Artists will gain international recognition by showcasing alongside sustainability leaders and designers, building their portfolio, and contributing to conversations on heritage, culture, and circular fashion innovation.
Practical Information:
Costs:
Artists will receive their corset free of charge (donated stock). However, they are expected to cover their own additional materials (such as fabrics, threads, and embellishments) used in the redesign.
Postage:
Artists are responsible for both sending and returning the postage of their corset. Within the UK, this is estimated at around £10–£15 total (approx. £5–£8 each way).
International participants may face higher postage costs depending on their location.
Timeline:
Corsets dispatched: Autumn/Winter 2025
Completed designs returned: February 2026
Exhibitions and ICFWC showcase: March 2026
Publication release: Summer 2026
