CuratorSpace Artist Bursary #32
Deadline: 30/06/2026Curator Space
Paid opportunity
The CuratorSpace Artist Bursary programme supports professional contemporary visual artists by contributing to the ongoing costs of sustaining and developing their practice. One bursary of £1000 will be awarded each month.
We have updated our bursary model to make financial support more responsive to artist practice and to remove the administrative barriers and fixed deadlines that often accompany funding. Instead of applying for a specific project, applications will now be selected solely on the basis of practice.
This allows greater flexibility in how funding can be used across your work, including:
- Producing new work
- Research and development
- Materials, equipment, or training
- Expanding or adapting your practice in response to new opportunities
- Access costs
- Match funding
Eligibility
Bursaries are only available to artists with a CuratorSpace Artist or Artist Plus subscription.
Applicants must have:
- An annual subscription, or
- A monthly subscription held continuously for the previous 12 months
If applying as a partnership or collective, all members must hold an Artist or Artist Plus subscription.
To subscribe or upgrade, go to https://www.curatorspace.com/about/pricing and click the Subscribe button underneath the Artist or Artist Plus section.
Artists can apply from anywhere in the world. Applications must be provided in English.
This bursary is intended to support professional artists with a clearly defined and current contemporary visual arts practice. Artists can work in any medium, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video, applied art, live art, and social practice. Please message to enquire if you are unsure whether you are eligible.
Artists can apply from anywhere in the world. Applications must be submitted in English.
We are unable to support:
- Applications focused solely on performing arts, creative writing, or curatorial activity
- Activity unrelated to a contemporary art practice
- Workshop delivery
- Commercial product development
- Students currently enrolled in a BA programme
- Practices that promote or incite hatred or discrimination in any form
Selection
Appications will be reviewed and shortlisted based on the above eligibility.
Each month, one shortlisted artist will be selected at random to receive £1000 towards their practice.
Shortlisted artists who are not selected will automatically remain in the pool for as long as they are eligible, so there is no need to reapply.
Selected artists are not eligible to reapply for 12 months after their award, ie. artists selected in July can apply again from the following August.
Payment
80% of the bursary will be paid in advance upon receipt of an invoice following selection.
The remaining 20% will be paid upon completion of a short feedback form outlining how the bursary supported your practice. This helps us understand and demonstrate the impact of the programme.
Deadline
The next deadline for applications is 30th June 2026.
