    I am an artist and art historian of Swiss and Belgian origin. I taught for several years Plastic Arts and Art History. Now, I am fully devoted to the creation as well as the promotion of my artistic work in Switzerland and internationally. I have focused my research on overcomming the classical border between an artwork and the viewer. This desire gave rise to my "intervariactive" artworks.

    A figurative artist, I work in various mediums but predominantly in acrylic and oils and create artwork that is representational, sensitive and spiritual expressed through colour, form, line, and texture. I work on self-initiated projects to build a current, cohesive and comprehensive portfolio and am always pushing the boundaries of my abilities to find ways to cross-over and develop my practice.

    I am an artist based in Leeds. The concept of drawing is the subject of my work, focusing on the crucial role of materiality within an essential language of drawing.     My mixed-media practice is influenced by science and often draws inspiration from my Dutch/Brazilian heritage. It aims to encourage the viewer to question knowledge and value systems by teasing their cognitive senses.     After a long career in the arts, Fran is now based in North Cornwall and has returned to painting. She has been a professional artist since 2020. Lockdown provided an opportunity to deepen her practice with online tutors and she completed a year-long in person course at Newlyn School of Art in 2023.
