Hi I’m Susi Oddball, You might wonder why i have such a strange name…it’s in my nature, but there’s a good reason for it. I have been a clown Juggler for 35 years, and the name was first used for my company called Oddballs Juggling Company , which was based in Brighton & London. My work explores labour separation, between class and gender. By presenting a dichotomy of public and private job materials, creating indications of construction works with materials symbolic to traditional views of women-hood. I reflect upon a dysfunctionality and insecurity of self within my future role as both an artist and a woman in construction.

I wrote (now teach) creative writing at Leeds Arts Uni. I teach postgrads how to make writing part of a creative practice. Holman works with traditional making practices and processes, that he subverts with contemporary content, challenging both the currency of craft as a nostalgic strategy for making, and our perceptions of what constitutes ‘heritage.’ Holman is a non executive director of The National Festival of Making and is artist in residence for the British Textiles Biennial 2019.
