    Poppy Whatmore is a visual artist based in London. She studied an MA Fine Art at Slade School of Fine Art with an Arts Council Award. She was nominated for the Adrian Carruthers Studio Award and won the Aesthetica Art Prize in 2013 . Selected group shows include, 'A Body A Part', APT gallery, artist and curator; 'Warped Domesticity'. She was selected for Hogchester Arts in 2023.

    I am a painter of modern life. My work has largely been based on observations of my environment. However, recently I have been creating works of the imagination. These later paintings and digital prints touch upon interpersonal relationships and humanity’s connections to the environment.

    I am involved in an intimate co-creative process with nature. Each piece is a story revealed through our interconnection and communion of the sacred ancient bond between the human and the natural world. My art makes a space for nature to be heard, to be felt and to be present in a way that is being called forth within each nature encounter.

    M.Kala was born and raised in Congo, then moved to France where she studied French literature specialising in African narratives at Sorbonne University. She observed similar bonds in craft, as she became increasingly interested in the African art. With jewellery, she realised that she can choose materials according to a space and story-line. She studied fine jewellery at City Lit part-time.

    I am a multidisciplinary artist with an MA Fine Art from Goldsmiths College. I am interested in the juncture between art, medicine, and forensics, informed by my experience as a former medic. My work reflects the imbalance and currently deeper opening of artistic equality. I am currently reflecting and researching the language of gender, especially gender fluidity.
