    Life has taken me through many twists, turns and shifts during which my creative passion has ebbed and flowed but never faded. The last 5 years has seen my definitive return to art. Following an introduction to mixed media in the summer of 2018 I embarked on a 3 year intensive artistic study. Following this I moved to North Yorkshire to set up the Well House Haven Art Retreat venue

    Bikebones has been creating upcycled artifacts, artwork and lighting since 2017. By working with materials that had a previous life and using traditional craftsmanship each piece invites the observer to embrace its natural imperfections.

    I am a UK based artist with many years experience in the Fine Art field.     I am an intuitive, spontaneous artist, so I tend to paint or draw, make or model with whatever materials I can get my hands on. I usually use acrylics and at present I'm interested in creating abstract images, although I do like to paint very large jungles too.

    I mostly paint, draw and print. While usually figurative my subjects are rarely quite human. I'm also interested in landscape that bears the oft-troubling traces of human presence. These are dark times. I feel perpetually shocked that we have ended up here. I try to explore this in my work. I committed to making art seriously late in life. Late enough to do it frivolously.

    N. Irish artist living and working on the Ards peninsula in Co. Down. I lived a large part of my life in California working in Economics but I have always maintained my love of art and creating art. My journey now is mostly about making art.     My work is an emotional response to the coastal landscape and not a literal interpretation of what I see. The compositions that I develop are not particularly concerned with the specifics of place, but more the elemental relationship between land, sky and sea. The freedom and spontaneity of mark making and gestural paint application allow me to express a more personal image of the environment.

    Who am I? A question I will always struggle with. I have two sides- my feminine and my masculine . My routes of action films and sci-fi has merged with my love for glamour, pop culture, costume and character. The questioning of identity and gender within myself and society has led way to a desire to explore this and other social topics through my work. Society is my biggest inspiration.
