    As a visual artist and storyteller, I work across disciplines—incorporating found objects, both natural and manmade, to explore vulnerability and the impermanence of our interconnected world. I am drawn to stories embedded in materials and processes, and how they reflect and shape the natural environment. Collaborating with nature allows me to examine subtle social and cultural shifts.

    I am an emerging textile artist working with experimental eco-printing and cyanotype. A scientist by previous trade, I am currently studying for FdA degree in Textiles Practice at Bradford Art School. I am drawn to the overlap of science and nature with creativity, with production of serendipitous outcomes featuring botanical imagery using real plants and their pigments.

Ford works with textiles to explore the complexities and pleasures of queer communities, histories and archives.     I make predominantly papier-mâché sculptures. I love its immediacy, expressiveness and physicality. My work often has a performative quality. They are not just sculptures — they’re personalities, each holding part of my own identity, emotions, and fears, reflecting some of my own mental health challenges but also inviting a shared recognition.

    My paintings develop from sketches and photographs taken on location, blending imagination and inspiration from architecture, archaeology, and man-made structures. From my studio space at Arnup Studios in York, I create, teach and exhibit my art, sharing my collections, prints and cards. I exhibit both solo and collaboratively across the UK and locally, in galleries, art fairs and art cafes.
