    I am in my early seventies having studied art in the last twenty years. My interest in the natural world, the climate crisis and threats to biodiversity are reflected in the work that I make in a variety of materials. I like to inject humour and surprise into the work through changes in scale and contrasts of materials.

    My educational background is in Fine Art and I have a Masters degree in Curatorial Practice from Falmouth University. My Pagan faith influences my arts practice, to create connections between the divine feminine, humanity and nature within my work. I draw visual inspiration from the Wheel of the Year and use a palette associated with a particular season or Sabbat.

    I grew up in the heart of the textile industry, and spent many childhood days playing amongst the derelict mills that are our heritage. After travelling extensively, I was drawn back by the rugged and remote beauty of the Pennines. My passion is capturing the drama of our landscape, its social and industrial heritage and the lives of the people who lived and worked here then and now.

    I make handmade jewellery in silver and 18ct gold and a wide range of precious stones, with textures and patterns drawn from close up images of beetles, their wing cases, articulated legs, antennae and focus sing on their jewel like qualities. My work also finds inspiration from landscapes where I create jewellery, prints and small paintings inspired by the landscapes of Iceland and Sweden.

Specialising in textile and installation work, Rachel is particularly interested in artwork that involves the viewer, creating an immersive experience. Born in 1988, Rachel has dedicated her life, education and work to the Arts. She studied at Bishop Grosseteste University under skilled artists such as Pete Moss, John Rimmer, and Hilary Bower.

She has experience exhibiting in the UK, Europe and the USA and has shown her work several times at prestigious events including Goldsmiths Fair and Collect Art Fair. Internationally she has exhibited twice at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York and also twice at Sierrad Art Fair in Amsterdam.
