    I make detailed paintings, drawings and installations depicting marginal areas. I use traditional methods and materials in a unique way, building my work up in a layered practice that refers to both etching and primitive photography. I am based in London. I m a former recipient of the Jerwood Drawing Prize and was shortlisted for the John Moores Prize in 2014, winning the Visitors Choice.

    Sarah Tomlinson is a textile and mixed media artist based in Birmingham. Over the past two years she has been exploring a theme of ageing as part of a City and Guilds Diploma course. Coming from a background of mental health Sarah is interested in how to visually portray emotions and abstract concepts. Her work explores layers of identity and memory.

    I trained and worked as a primary teacher early on in my career, before motherhood took over and I took time to raise my family. I returned to work as a teaching assistant and supply teacher part time, before I took the plunge and embarked on an access course in art and design. I haven't looked back since, gaining a BA, followed by an MA in Fine Art, and I am at present continuing my research.

    Artist Printmaker, Jess Shaw, transforms details of the North Yorkshire landscape into contemporary artwork.     I'm a printmaker exploring how people shape and connect with the land. My work invites reflection on belonging, history, and care for the natural world. Through walking and sketching on location I immerse myself in experiencing the landscape. I layer this experience with secondary research to produce experimental prints and installations exploring our ongoing connection with place.

    I create sculptural lights using repurposed materials and everyday objects. My latest projects are a collaboration between my brother and me. The lights we craft together originate from ordinary items that we assemble into articulated shapes, which we then enhance with carefully selected paper and fabric coverings, along with a bespoke light source, resulting in beautiful, tactile lights.

    I am a fine art photographer with a love for photography since getting my first camera as a teenager. Initially working as a landscape architect for 40 years till 2015 I decided to change direction to pursue my passion for b+w fine-art landscape photography using both 35mm and medium formats.     I have recently completed an art degree in Glass and ceramics from the University of Sunderland. I am a experienced craft tutor and work for WEA and Cultural Spring. I have also run her own workshops at different venues in the North East for several years. During the pandemic I supplied craft kits for people who were isolating. I also run a small studio in South Tyneside.
