    O’Donnell is an award winning Scottish painter currently working on the series SURFACE WORK. After obtaining an MA in Contemporary European Fine Art in Barcelona, she spent 18 years of professional practice in Norway and now lives in Andalucia and Fife. The subject of her work is the process of making it, inextricably linked to the concepts and actions of limitation, restriction and repetition.

    Yuliya Surnina, is a Designer/Maker born in Kazakhstan during the zenith of Soviet Union. She primarily explores three main themes in her work: object transformation, perceptions of and expectations from female bodies, and the experience of straddling two cultures. Trained as a City and Guilds Traditional Upholsterer with a MSc in Social Psychology, Julia lives in wild Dorset.

    I have painted since I was ten years old, throughout my career in fashion design and later interior design. I use everyday scenes as well as those from travelling, and am inspired by nature and the seasons, with the variation in moods and colours they bring. I started painting in oils and in the last few years have developed a passion for soft pastels.

    I am a Yorkshire based artist specialising in palette knife painting. I produce landscape, figurative and still life paintings using acrylics, often on large scale canvases. My work is represented by several northern galleries in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Lake District, and via solo and mixed exhibitions across the north. I run workshops from home and for art groups and work to commission.

    I love every gnome I make and put a lot of thought into their making. I make each one individually and work on it until it's finished before starting the next. I love doing the custom gnomes. They bring me such joy because I am trying to make an inspiration into an actualization. And it's so nice to collaborate with what other people are imagining and bringing it out in a hand felted gnome.

    Nesta Pilkington is the working name of Suzy Maxwell MA (Falmouth 2006). A main concept of the work is a love of animals, who they are and how they touch our lives. Where we and they 'meet' is a sort of cross-species connection. It is a spiritual connection and when they inevitably die, we feel it as an unbelievably deep loss. The sculptures are an interpretation of this inter-relationship.

I never step out for a beach walk or a longer journey across an expanse of open water without my thoughts turning to what the next picture might hold, my my eye to the viewfinder.
