    I’ve always been an abstract oil painter, I love the freedom it gives me. Recently my practice has taken inspiration from my new local landscape, transferring watercolour studies into abstract representations, but allowing how that particular landscape makes me feel when present. I don’t shy away from colour and use it as a driving force to start painting and communicate with the viewer.

    I am a multi-disciplinary artist. Within my work I am interested exploring the possibilities of the transformation of the everyday.  I work on commissioned pieces with performers and also collaborate with friends and family who appear as subjects within my photographic work. I would describe my style as darkly enchanting and familiar yet uncomfortably strange.

    I am a self-employed workshop facilitator and established miniature artist, specialising in domestic miniature scenes using ethically sourced natural and recycled materials, I have used these expertises to further my self-directed development within the MA in visual arts I have recently completed. My work is a response to my environment experienced as a woman and an artist.

    Nathan Obokoh is an interdisciplinary storyteller weaving together poetry, performance, colour and light to take people on an elemental journey into the mystery of life he calls LightBreath. These sculptural stories create an unfolding tapestry of vibrant, living colour from a single pure source of light, using the selective prisms of dichroic coated acrylic and steel.

    I am a mainly self taught painter, working in oils, acrylic and gouache. I have worked as a doctor since 2003. I started to paint as a way to relax and escape from the stress of working in critical care during the pandemic. Now I paint for the joy of learning and creating.
