    I am a painter born and raised in the heart of Cumbria and currently based in West Yorkshire. I am enthusiastic about eduction, particularly art education and provision, and being outside. My practice is rooted in these two passions as well as a love of experimentation and play.     I'm a Manchester based artist and researcher, making process art using felt, a vintage letterpress and printing techniques. Each printing bloc used is natural, reclaimed or laser cut in a community makers space, often weaving in poetry along the way. I explore the questions that symbiotic earthly relationships pose to humanity through tentacular and tactile art.

    Since 2017, Scholz has focused his artmaking on environments that have been affected by human activity, encompassing landscapes affected by, for example, war, pollution, and the climate crisis. Simultaneously, he is exploring and experimenting with alternative and sustainable photographic printing practices and processes, to highlight the need to critically reflect on our daily carbon footprint.

    I am a photographer and a qualified teacher. I tutor workshops in basic digital photography and cyanotype printing. My main practice is in documentary photography. I also have a passion for Camera Obscura and have designed and built my own portable CO. Inspired by largescale artworks I also have a passion for light paintings and abstractions made at night.
