    I am a visual artist, born in Scotland and living in the Scottish Borders. My background in craft and fine art is wide and varied. I first trained in ceramics and then studied fine art sculpture and printmaking, at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, from which I graduated BA Hons in 1992.     Nesta Pilkington is the working name of Suzy Maxwell MA (Falmouth 2006). A main concept of the work is a love of animals, who they are and how they touch our lives. Where we and they 'meet' is a sort of cross-species connection. It is a spiritual connection and when they inevitably die, we feel it as an unbelievably deep loss. The sculptures are an interpretation of this inter-relationship.

    I am an Artist, whose life and inspiration has always been drawn to the sea - Creating Abstract, Art Photography inspired by the sea. I never step out for a beach walk or a longer journey across an expanse of open water without my thoughts turning to what the next picture might hold, my my eye to the viewfinder.
