    I am a UK-based artist working in the South West. I make both large and small works, predominantly oil paintings on linen, but I also create small three dimensional pieces that consider the impact of scale and perception. Some of these become part of older objects, others are created new.

    Vivid, gestural oil paintings reveal a fascination with emotional states, with the help of unwitting accomplices captured from feature film and TV- their surfaces hint at depths of emotion below. Forever given pause, they comment on emotional entanglement with the artificial as a substitute – or perhaps immunisation against- the fluctuating feelings of everyday life.

    I only returned to using clay several years ago after a break of over 35 years and following work-related mental health issues. The charity Create Bolton supported me in rediscovering my love of ceramics and encouraging me to develop my own style of making. My work is inspired by my love of nature and my style is still evolving.

    Jun Rui Lo (b. Hong Kong) is a Leeds-based artist whose practice revolves around the entangled emotions that emerge from drifting between gender and cultural identities. Working primarily with drawing and sculptural juxtaposition, Lo constructs fragmented allegorical narratives and out-of-place scenes that oscillate between fiction and reality, embodying the aesthetics of ambiguity and melancholy.

    Sarah Tomlinson is a textile and mixed media artist based in Birmingham. Over the past two years she has been exploring a theme of ageing as part of a City and Guilds Diploma course.     I'm a British artist living and working in Northumberland. I make paintings on paper and sculptures in paper and wire, concrete and iron resin. I studied art in London, initially at the Sir John Cass School of Art, and then at Central Saint Martin’s majoring in sculpture and drawing at the Royal College of Art.

    Though rooted in printmaking, my MA in Fine Art (UAL) encouraged me to expand my practice to include installation and assemblage. I use a range of media including traditional (e.g. print, ceramics) and newer technologies (e.g. laser cut) which I combine to stretch possibilities. My work reflects the range of human experience, with dementia and the working poor among my subjects.
