I'm a painter, drawing from nature, and seeking the symbiotic relationships and wellbeing that the natural world can bring. My paintings varying in scale, with smaller, more intimate surreal-like painted works forming installations. A process- based and curiosity driven practice, painting with immediacy, and intuition, which is later refined with a more considered aesthetic.

I am an artist currently based in Coventry/Birmingham. My practice is a fluid entity rooted in painting that moves between sculpture, installation and interactive elements. The work deals with the immediacy of gesture and mark making, as well as the transient nature of materials and their hierarchical connotations within painting, proposing a utilitarian notion of the medium.

As a self-taught abstract artist with a background in textile design, I am constantly drawn to exploring the intersection between color, texture, and pattern. My work is an intuitive and expressive journey, where I use various mediums to create a visual language that is uniquely my own. Through my art, I seek to capture the essence of emotion, memory, and human experience.

I am interested in exploring photography as ‘Inframedium’, playing with the boundaries of the photographic object, its material ‘nature’ and the visual possibilities that exist within it. Stripping away the ‘Apparatus’ of the camera and thus stepping out of the arena of the technical image, I am exploring a different set of gestures with which to reveal the material’s phenomenological potential.
