    Derby based printmaker and illustrator Nicki Dennett creates multi-layered, mixed media prints inspired by life around her. Nicki’s continual observation of her environment and an appreciation of all aspects of existence inspire her work.     My mixed-media practice is influenced by science and often draws inspiration from my Dutch/Brazilian heritage. It aims to encourage the viewer to question knowledge and value systems by teasing their cognitive senses. Since graduating from Goldsmiths in 2004 I have exhibited in galleries, museums and alternative venues across the UK and done residencies in France, Holland and Finland.

    I have been making work in ceramics for over 30 years. My most recent work explores my personal history as a gay man growing up in the 1970's and 80's and discovering queer artists and creatives that helped me to shape who I am. I am currently based in Liverpool where I also run a ceramics studio called Baltic Clay.
