    I am a Scottish artist who studied at The Glasgow School of Art. I work primarily in traditional artistic mediums such as drawing and painting. Photography and digital art is also explored, along with sculpture. Themes of the human condition, emotions, mental health and art as therapy are explored.

After years of working in London — and earlier, covering war zones (‘80s) as a video reporter before running my own press agency (‘90s) — I then moved to Birmingham to step away from conventional industry paths.     My mixed-media practice is influenced by science and often draws inspiration from my Dutch/Brazilian heritage. It aims to encourage the viewer to question knowledge and value systems by teasing their cognitive senses. Since graduating from Goldsmiths in 2004 I have exhibited in galleries, museums and alternative venues across the UK and done residencies in France, Holland and Finland.
