    Through painting, I share my experiences as a woman artist in my mid 30’s. I tackle issues like mental health, love, and pressures of being a woman in today’s society. I do this inspired by art history and particularly focus on the subject of the self.

    About me I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2002 with a degree in Sculpture. I have been a Youth Worker for over 30 years. I love lino print for its sculptural aspects including carving to mark make and making impressions. Print making is relief making. My practice is playful, explorative and reactive.     Julie Dawson/Gledhill is a retired teacher of Art and Design Technology. She was born and still resides in Wakefield West Yorkshire. Julie is a keen photographer and uses her camera to inspire her art. One of Julie’s favourite places to visit is the Yorkshire coast and this is reflected in her work. Julie has sold her artwork around the world, Holds a BA Hons degree in fine art.

    Emily Joy (UK, 1982) is a socially and environmentally engaged artist making sculpture, installation, and performative work. Emily is also a ceramic sculpture tutor and facilitates public creative projects as half of creative partnership ‘Periscope’. Currently exploring Swiss glacial melt and associated ecological and social impacts, her practice centres around communication, empathy and ecology.

    My practice revolves around the idea of labour intensity, often in a highly gendered context. I work mainly in mark making and textiles but also use writing to inform and underpin my practice.

    Emma is an embroidery artist who works with recycled ,aluminium, drinks cans. Using ancient design techniques such as engraving and goldwork embroidery. After burnishing the inside of the can turns a golden colour which she sews onto. The contrast in materials is a focal point of her practice. She also woks on site specific settings and immersive projects.

    Becky is a freelance illustrator based in Leeds, UK. Becky creates work mainly focusing on favourite meals; food and drink, along with animals, plants and feelings of nostalgia. She graduated from the University of Brighton in 2012 having studied Fine Art Printmaking and has focused on the style of risograph and screenprint often using bold shapes and colours within her work.

    I make predominantly papier-mâché sculptures. I love its immediacy, expressiveness and physicality. My work often has a performative quality. They are not just sculptures — they’re personalities, each holding part of my own identity, emotions, and fears, reflecting some of my own mental health challenges but also inviting a shared recognition.

    With a practice primarily based around photography, cyanotypes and print making, Jonathan's work attempts to capture the essence, atmosphere and nature of place or character. It may be the play of light through trees, the point where the sea meets the sky or the mischief in someone's gaze, it is a constant but elusive preoccupation.

    I am a printmaker and artist and I work from my attic studio in West Yorkshire. My prints are influenced by my love of being immersed in nature and my belief that everyone has a right to be wrapped in the natural world. They are also influenced by my love of arts that explore folklores, especially those relating to the changing seasons.
