Holman works with traditional making practices and processes, that he subverts with contemporary content, challenging both the currency of craft as a nostalgic strategy for making, and our perceptions of what constitutes ‘heritage.’ Holman is a non executive director of The National Festival of Making and is artist in residence for the British Textiles Biennial 2019.

I constantly take photos and use them as source material to make videos and animations and prints and paint. I often see beauty in junk and the forgotten and the in-between. Play and humour and collaboration are important in my work as in my life. I am a quiet environmentalist and try to do my bit for the planet.
I live with my son, my partner, sometimes his daughter and our dog in London.

Stuart Taylor (HEIST) develops evidentiary systems using photography, text and installation. His work explores how institutions, images and viewers produce meaning through observation, classification and participation. Operating between documentation and intervention, HEIST transforms ordinary traces into behavioural events where attention itself becomes evidence.

My work touches on themes of belonging, mythology, memory, identity and the female gaze. In my creative practice, I enjoy exploring the symbolism behind water, waterlilies, lotus flowers, landscapes and the female body. I believe that my mixed heritage has been a rich source of material to work with, as I experiment with oil paint and mixed media on canvas.
