Her work is deeply influenced by her surroundings and the landscape, reflecting her identity as a "painter of life."     I'm an artist and writer who specialises in photographic engagement with the natural world, particularly the cultural history of plants. My practice-based PhD from the University of Brighton, conducted research on how creative encounters with the concept of plant intelligence can help narrow the nature-culture divide by making-with the plant not just as subject, but also as object.

    Winner of art battle Manchester Dec 2018 and a long standing student of Artworks art school on Halifax. I have my own studio at home where I work. I have had an exhibition Hebden Bridge which launched my art business. I show work locally in Halifax and have commissions on the go most of the time.     I have lived and walked in both urban & natural environments from London to Staffordshire and currently near Nottingham. In 2015 I completed an MA in Fine Art, through using my culture of walking, and I’m inspired by ‘edgeland’ landscapes. Drawing on the materiality of landscape, and with techniques such as frottage I consider notions around ‘mapping’ and the ‘reality’ of what we see

    I am in my early seventies having studied art in the last twenty years. My interest in the natural world, the climate crisis and threats to biodiversity are reflected in the work that I make in a variety of materials. I like to inject humour and surprise into the work through changes in scale and contrasts of materials.
