    I am a tapestry artist, weaver and textile designer based in creative studios in Newcastle upon Tyne. My background is as a professional artist before evolving into textiles. I like to use my colour knowledge with fibre creating unique items for people and their homes - such as framed tapestry art, rug making, woven cushions/bags etc.

    I am a multidisciplinary artist with an MA Fine Art from Goldsmiths College. I am interested in the juncture between art, medicine, and forensics, informed by my experience as a former medic. Selected exhibitions include Pratt Manhattan Gallery, New York; Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art, Budapest; Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, London.     I am a graduate of Reading University and the RCA. Currently I have a studio at APT in Deptford, London. I have exhibited continuously since 1977 both in terms of static installations but more recently involving projection onto objects. These include reconstructions of the night sky and orreries using 00 scale model railways. An online catalogue of small works and movie shorts support this.

    My main area of work is traditional printmaking and I have been exhibited in 5 out of the 6 Royal Academies of Arts in the UK and Ireland. I also work in the area of drawing, watercolour, and photography. Many of my works are based on a science fiction setting of my own with occult, retro, and archaic elements, but I also work based on real life.

    I grew up in the heart of the textile industry, and spent many childhood days playing amongst the derelict mills that are our heritage. After travelling extensively, I was drawn back by the rugged and remote beauty of the Pennines. My passion is capturing the drama of our landscape, its social and industrial heritage and the lives of the people who lived and worked here then and now.

    I'm a British sculptor from Northumberland. I make sculptures in concrete which are either hand built or cast. I studied art in London, initially at the Sir John Cass School of Art, and then at Central Saint Martin’s majoring in sculpture, and drawing at the Royal College of Art.
