    I am an abstract and intuitive painter, Danish and living in Scotland. My background is psychology and I have been creating as far back as I remember.     As a sculptor/installation artist, I weld, weave, wrap or ravel steel wire into most of my work. Routes, boundaries and voids created help me understand connections and liminality. The wire is manipulated into weightless ethereal structures, barely visible yet imposing. With the involvement of my body and the inclusion of light, space, movement and sound, uncanny immersive environments emerge.

    The main aspect of my work is the exploration of the personal and the collective unconscious through art, putting in its centre not the single human being but humanity as a whole.     Based in the UK East Midlands, I became a full time artist in 2019. Semi abstract in nature, my work combines a fine art background and a long held fascination with wood in all forms. Sustainability underpins my practice; resource management and contributing to art communities is very important to me. I consistently exhibit in UK galleries and have collectors across the UK, Europe and US.

    Nicola Briggs is an Artist & Ceramicist based in Manchester, UK. She completed a BA(Hons) Design: Ceramics Arts Degree from Staffordshire University in 1998 and set up her first studio with the help of The Princes Trust. During this time Nicola also painted and sold work at galleries. After a break to raise her family, Nicola returned to making and exhibiting in 2016 building a new garden studio.
