    As mixed media artist, I have worked as a textile artist since I took early retirement 14 years ago. Recently, I have also restarted water colour painting and my work now includes a mixture of paint, fabrics, stitch, hand weaving and embellishments. I have taken many courses on textile art techniques, printing, eco dyeing, paper making. etc.

    I am an award winning cross-media artist and filmmaker, having exhibited internationally and worked collaboratively to deliver works that interrogate the role and impact of digital media practice.     Milena Makani is a German abstract painter based in London, living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.     Working with clay has always been my passion and escape. I graduated with a BEd Hons majoring in art and ceramics and taught for many years. Following early retirement I work in my studio in Hexham, Northumberland where I make small scale ceramic sculpture based on my immediate environment and on my relationships with landscape and within family.

    Trained, practiced and taught Graphic Design turned to Printmaking as a main practice since 2017. Concentrated on Linocut initially predominantly 'Reduction'. Recently returned to college for an Adult learning Printmaking course and introduced to Tetrapak, Drypoint, Aquatint and other Intaglio processes which has expanded my outlook on many other possibilities and approaches.
