FORBIDDEN FRUIT - Call to artists
Report this?Deadline: 01/10/2023 | City: Todmorden | Region: West Yorkshire | Country: United Kingdom | Water Street Gallery
FORBIDDEN FRUIT. Ever since Adam took The Apple from Eve’s hand, humanity, in all its guises, has succumbed to temptation, has been aware of 'Forbidden Fruit'. Although the title appears to suggest allegorical narrative, even biblical interpretation, we are asking artists to encompass all aspects of the title, there are obvious parallels with current times. General consensus is changeable, as well as our own peculiarities. To quote art historian Mary Beard from her groundbreaking program Forbidden Art- of 2022 ‘to see or not to see’. …over to you and your art.
