    as a child just mixing colour brought endless amusement and no wall was safe from a crayon or felt tip. As a teenager my art was a place for hard feelings, as a young adult an income while travelling, no pavement safe with chalk around. As a mother my art began a new life of celebration in outdoor spaces, and reflecting on my children's world. Now the big picture is my subject. To see and reflect

    I am a woodcarver, artificer and artisan pictorial sign maker. My sculpture is often for memorials, both for highly personal private remembrance and for Public Spaces. All my work is concerned with sustainability, climate change and environmental responsibility. My work has been exhibited widely in the UK and online. I sculpture in the Public Collection and on permanent display.

    My art practice combines paper collage art and illustration with sharing my creative journey as a self-taught artist.     I mostly paint, draw and print. While usually figurative my subjects are rarely quite human. I'm also interested in landscape that bears the oft-troubling traces of human presence. These are dark times. I feel perpetually shocked that we have ended up here. I try to explore this in my work. I committed to making art seriously late in life. Late enough to do it frivolously.

    Working with ink pens and watercolour pencils on paper. When creating, I love to play with little shapes, lines and patterns I see in my surroundings. I pickup elements that I see in nature, and back in the studio, I let my ink loose on it. I say it like that, because what I exactly will make is never clear before I start, the ink and its whimsical way of flowing always add surprise.
