Layla's work was shortlisted for the Flourish Awards for excellence in Printmaking and selected for Ones to Watch, Yorkshire 2024.     My name is Vic Wright and l'm a sculptor based in the North West of England. My pieces are often the result of experimenting and manipulating core materials. Typically my work takes the form of unique casts. Using a base of fine casting cement different materials such as metal powders and pigments are added. When drying this results in different textures, colours and surfaces.

    I am a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, digital media, video and print. Her practice explores feminist themes, domestic labour and materiality. She reimagines household tools as metaphors for resilience and ritual. Trained in hospitality before studying silversmithing and Fine Art, she completed BA and MA degrees at Central Saint Martins (2021) and is now undertaking a Prof Doc.

    I am interested in exploring photography as ‘Inframedium’, playing with the boundaries of the photographic object, its material ‘nature’ and the visual possibilities that exist within it. Stripping away the ‘Apparatus’ of the camera and thus stepping out of the arena of the technical image, I am exploring a different set of gestures with which to reveal the material’s phenomenological potential.
