    Sarah Tomlinson is a textile and mixed media artist based in Birmingham. Over the past two years she has been exploring a theme of ageing as part of a City and Guilds Diploma course. Coming from a background of mental health Sarah is interested in how to visually portray emotions and abstract concepts. Her work explores layers of identity and memory.

    Based in Sheffield, England I have been a professional artist since graduating in Fine Art (painting and printmaking) in 1998. I have worked in various artist studios around Yorkshire and worked on a diverse range of projects from commissions to specialist art workshops. Throughout college and university painting has always been the driving force behind my work.

    I grew up in Zambia, studied Classics and Education at St. Mary’s University in London, and later graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a B.A. Honours in Fine Art. As teacher and artist, my interests have often overlapped. I have exhibited in many English and European cities, as can be seen in my CV on this website.     I am a mixed media artist based in Bedfordshire. My recent work has focused on abstract, geometric and surreal patterns and shapes, expressing underlying themes of mental health and disability. I graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a BA (Hons) in Art and Design in 2010, after previously studying fashion and textiles and fine art.

    I am a leather jewellery maker based in South Yorkshire. I use re cycled leather and experiment with paint, heat and metal leafing to form unique pieces of jewellery .     Sally is an artist and curator. She studied as a mature student at Central Saint Martins, graduating in 2017. Her work has been shown in Canada, China, London and other parts of the UK. Sally has curated a number of shows of work by emerging artists in Scarborough and London. In 2021 Sally moved back to Scarborough and is now Chair of Scarborough Studios/Old Parcels Office Artspace.

    The first time I touched clay, it was a peaceful and comforting experience. There is nothing more grounding than working by hand with raw materials and watching as it slowly transforms into a piece of work. This started by accident. As someone who has ADHD, it’s incredibly difficult to be still, and I feel the need to constantly be doing something with my hands.
